There was Paul, Nolan, and myself walking on the roof tops of one of the old abandoned pueblo buildings. The old roofs had sky lights that were covered with just a screen and a board on top of them so it was pretty easy to get inside one of them.
As little boys would have it, we were pulling off the screens of the sky lights and exploring to see what was inside – beds, chairs, kitchen stuff. In one of the houses where older kids would hang out and party, we saw an 8-track boom-box.
We pulled Nolan down into the dark room and he grabbed the player along with a paper bag full of 8-tracks.
We ran up to the corn fields, where we had a little fort in the middle, to look at and listen to our little treasure. Continue reading Song Carrier/ Before CDs were Cool.
